The Physics & Astronomy Department strongly encourages undergraduates to participate in research and to take advantage of the many opportunities here on campus.  Below is a list of Rice faculty members who have expressed interest in mentoring undergraduates. Note that this is not a complete list and many faculty members not listed here also mentor undergraduates! If you are interested in working with other faculty members you are encouraged to email them.

Also, if you are interested in working with faculty members from other departments, you should feel free to contact them as well. In fact, many physics majors pursue research with such faculty members, including those in MSNE, ELEC, and CHEM. Note that research for PHYS credit and/or for PHYS senior theses can be pursued with non-PHYS faculty members, but the project must have departmental approval to ensure curriculum-appropriate PHYS content.
