Dear Colleague,

I’m writing to ask if you would forward this email and attached flyer for our PhD program to your senior physics majors.

Our departmental research program is focused on condensed matter physics, with ongoing collaborative projects covering a wide range of topics within that field, including:

  • Quantum Materials
  • Unconventional Superconductivity
  • Renewable Energy
  • Topological Phases
  • Biosensing
  • Photonics and Plasmonics
  • 2D Atomic Crystals and Thin Films
  • Quantum Information

Our graduates have gone on to successful careers in a broad range of fields within as well as outside of physics and academia (for a partial list see

https://www.bc.edu/bc-web/schools/mcas/departments/physics/graduate/our-alumni.html).

All matriculating students are financially supported through teaching and research assistantships, with opportunities to start research as early as the summer preceding their first year.

To apply please visit our website: https://www.bc.edu/bc-web/schools/mcas/departments/physics/graduate/application-information.html.

If any of your students would like further information on our graduate program, they should feel free to contact us directly at physics@bc.edu.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Graf, Chair
