PHYSICS RESEARCH EXPERIENCES FOR UNDERGRADUATES

This 9-week research program includes:

  • $4500 stipend

  • support for round-trip travel

Research Areas Include:

  • Elementary Particle Physics
  • Gravity Theory
  • Condensed Matter Physics
  • Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics
  • Soft Matter Physics
  • Physics of Living Systems
  • Astronomy

Who should apply:

  • A US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Students enrolled in 2 year or 4 year college (and continuing as an undergraduate in Fall 2020)
  • Students who have completed at least 1 year of Calculus based Introductory Physics
  • Women and students from underrepresented groups and institutions encouraged to apply.
This Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program is a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded Summer Research Program for undergraduates. Students will work with faculty and graduate students on a variety of cutting-edge research projects in Physics and Astronomy. The program also aims to provide all- round professional development through weekly activities, and a strong cohort experience through shared housing and social activities.
